Chikirina Family Tea Recipe


They say mothers know best, and though that may not be true at all times, it is often true when it comes to recipes. This tea recipe has been passed down through generations in the Chikirina family from mother to daughter, and it is the perfect cure to treat colds without using conventional medicine.

Ingredients:

2-3 apples (sliced)

Fresh ginger (size of a thumb or more if you like, grated)

Juice of 1 lemon

2 lemons (sliced)

A few leaves of fresh mint (or 1-2 teaspoons dried mint)

1 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

Add 1-2 liters of water to a large pan.

Add all ingredients to the pan and bring to a boil. Let simmer for a few minutes and then strain.

Add some honey and drink while hot.

 

Note 1: Place the remaining tea in a container and leave in the fridge. Stays fresh for a few days.

Note 2: You can change the amounts of the ingredients to your liking.
